pre-launch party

On November 18, 2000, On the Page held its first event at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, where over 100 members of our extended literary family celebrated the new magazine and contributed to the site by drawing buffalo, naming favorite authors, suggesting future themes, and creating a lexicon of words to get off the page.

The festivities also featured live music from the San Francisco-based band Extra Ghost and work by Bay Area photographers, including a presentation of slides by Mimi Chakarova from her exhibit, Through Her Eyes.

In addition, thanks to our generous supporters at these fine companies and organizations, Pagers drank HE'BREW, The Chosen Beer, feasted on tasty bread from Grace Baking Company, and won raffled prizes from Green Apple Books, the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts, Clif Bar Inc., the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley, and Paradise Ridge Winery.

If you would like to be on our mailing list for future events, please send us a note.
