This week, Home and Escape continues with urban and suburban childhood memories. In Lost and Found, Estelle Padewar recalls a Lower East Side journey and why her mother warned her not to talk to strangers. In King, Shahe Mankerian describes home ownership.
In past weeks we've traveled to Cuba, to Greece, and to modern New York and Minnesota, among other places. And we encourage you to journey to our odd landings where you can find out what chocolate Catholics and drugs in the Sixties have in common.
And, yes, we are still accepting fiction and nonfiction for Work, Cities, and Secrets, but poetry submissions for all themes are closed until 2003.
Best,
